Information for Visitors

Aalborg is the main city in the Northern Denmark. It has approximately 160.000 inhabitants, and its history dates back to pre-historic times, where Vikings settled on the hills on both sides of the Limfjord that cuts right through the city.

Aalborg has many attractions ranging from a rich selection of historical relics to an active and very contemporary nightlife. It has all the cultural advantages of a city combined with the coziness of a small town.  

 

How to get to Aalborg

You reach Aalborg by car from the South or North by the highway E45.

The newly renovated Aalborg Airport is located some 10 minutes drive North of the city. I has very frequent national connections to Copenhagen and Billund, and a smaller number of international flights. Moth international passengers reach Aalborg via Copenhagen.

Aalborg has hourly train service from and to the other major Danish cities, including Copenhagen.

Aalborg University is a major asset to the city and region. With its 14.000 students it is the third university in Denmark in terms of size, and it continues to grow despite declining generations of potential students. 

How to get to Aalborg University

The main campus is located south-east of the city center. When arriving by car by the E45, take exit 26 (Th. Sauersvej, Egense). At the end of the exit, follow Egensevej in the Eastern direction 100-200 m into the first roundabout and take the exit Niels Bohrs Vej to the right.

Follow Niels Bohrs Vej approximately 200 m until the entry to the parking lot of the main campus.

If you arrive by train to the station in the city, the easiest option is to catch bus number 2. You will find the bus stop pretty much right outside the train station and on the same side of the road as the train station, Enter through the front door and pay the driver. The fare is approximately 15 DKK. The driver can give you change if you only have bills. Credit cards are not accepted. The bus drives right into the campus, and you should ring the bell to exit the bus when you see a small lake on your right hand side.

From the airport, take bus number 2 directly to the University (bus fare approximately 20 DKK, pay the driver) or take a cab. The cab fare is approximately 200 DKK. Most taxis accept credit cards, but you must notify the driver when you enter the taxi. Buses only accept cash or punch cards that you can buy in supermarkets and kiosks.

How to find AnyBody

Once you are at the campus, you can find the AnyBody group in the building Pontoppidanstręde 103, room 35. 

From the parking lot, go by foot into the campus as illustrated above and find Pontoppidanstręde 103. If you enter the door at the head of the arrow you will find the AnyBody office to your left as you enter the building..
